Highlighting her achievements and involvements
Hi! I’m Sophie Qin, a senior at Saratoga High School and a student at Stanford Online High School. Balancing both schools has allowed me to explore various academic interests while growing in independence and self-discipline.
I’m passionate about the arts—I play the flute, lead the flute section in marching band (fall season), and serve as the dance leader in the percussion ensemble (spring season). I also enjoy drawing and acting, and have been the scriptwriter and host for my school’s Homecoming rallies. Last year, I was honored to be crowned the Junior Homecoming Royal Queen!
In addition to music and performing arts, I was involved in STEM as a member of the VEX robotics team, where I served as the project manager and drive team spotter. I love taking on leadership roles and bringing positive energy into every team I’m part of.
Giving back is important to me. I volunteer through the MESH Program, where we inspire middle school students to develop a love for music. During the summers, I’ve taught English to high school students in rural Yunnan, China, and Myanmar refugee students in Thailand. I also continue to teach Myanmar students via weekend Zoom sessions throughout the school year.
Outside of school, I love spending time with friends—whether that means shopping, grabbing food, or dressing up for spirit days. I’m also a huge fan of Billie Eilish and could talk about her music all day. I believe in working hard, staying grounded, and finding joy in the little things.
If you’d like to know more about me, here’s my resume—hope you enjoy!
